FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:

DS200PTCTG1B is a Potential and Current Transformer Board manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the EX2000 Series used in Excitation Control Systems. The voltage and current signals from the PTs and CTs are scaled and isolated by the Potential Transformer Current Transformer (PTCT) board. Additionally, it offers auxiliary inputs and outputs for either 4-20 mA current signals or low voltage ( 10 V dc) signals. The JKK ribbon connector is used to connect the isolation transformer secondaries to the TCCB board. Line side voltage is provided by the third set of three-phase PT inputs, which the control uses for an optional voltage matching capability. The PTCT board is the destination for these connections.

CURRENT TRANSFORMER INPUTS:

  • Two-phase CT inputs in one set are supported. The regulator needs to phase A and phase C currents. These CTs provide information on the generator line current feedback for the brushless regulator control's regulator, limiters, and metering functions, including the optional Power System Stabilizer (PSS).
  • The inputs need a secondary CT input of no less than 5 A. Software modifications are provided for secondary inputs as low as 3 A nominally.
  • Less than 1 VA is required for each step of the CT. The PTCT board is the destination for these connections.

GENERATOR FEEDBACK:

  • The PTCT board isolates the PT and CT signals going to the regulator. The TCCB transducer board receives the voltage signals produced by the PTCT. The analog signals in this case are converted to digital counts via voltage-controlled oscillators (VCO).
  • One set of 3-phase CT inputs from the primary generator's stator current transformers will be accepted by the PTCT board. The regulators must function properly, therefore these CTs must have a nominal 5 A secondary and phase A and C. The controls do not require or make use of Phase B CT input.
  • Off nominal CTs are taken into consideration using EE.3840 CT ADJ. This EE setting's scaling is calculated to be equal to 20480/. (actual 1 pu CT secondary amps).
