When you receive these PROM modules, they do not come with any software code preloaded. This allows you to maintain your existing configuration parameters, which are stored on your old set of PROM modules. To retain the same configuration, it is recommended to transfer the configuration from the old PROM modules to a laptop or another device and then upload it from the laptop to the new PROM modules. Here's how you can do it:

• Begin by connecting a serial cable from the serial port on the drive to the serial port on the back of your laptop. Make sure you have a cable with the necessary connectors on both ends.

• Ensure that the serial port on your laptop is correctly configured by accessing the configuration utility.

• Access the menu-driven user interface on the drive's control panel and select the option to initiate a download from the drive.

• The configuration file will be downloaded to your laptop. Once the download is successfully completed, a message will be displayed on the control panel.
