FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:

IS210DSCBH1A is a Compact Interface Terminal Board manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the Mark VI Series used in GE Speedtronic gas turbine control systems. The DSCB board is a small interface terminal board intended for placement on a DIN rail. A 37-wire connection links the Serial Communications Board (VSCA) and DSCB. Using RS-232C, RS422, and RS485 serial communications, VSCA offers communication interfaces with external devices. The DSCB is connected to external components, such as smart pressure sensors like HoneywellTM Pressure Transducers and KollmorgenTM Electric Drives for valve actuation.

A plastic frame mounted on a vertical DIN rail holds the DSCB board in place. Permanently mounted high-density Euro-Block type terminal blocks have two screw connectors for the ground connection (SCOM). Shielded twisted pair wiring is used to connect the devices, and communication signals have built-in noise suppression. VSCA can identify the board for system diagnostics thanks to an onboard ID chip.

INSTALLATION:

The following figure illustrates the wiring connections to the Euro-Block type terminal block. The SCOM (ground) connection has four terminals and should be as brief as possible.

OPERATION:

The interaction between the DSCB and 12 Honeywell pressure transducers is shown in the accompanying figure using two of the six VSCA channels, Ports 1 and 2. For the RS422 multidrop signals, the three XDSA boards serve as intermediate distribution boards. On these boards, ports P1, P2, P3, and P4 are used to connect pressure transducers.

CONFIGURATION:

There is a jumper on each of the six channels that connects the cable shield to the ground through a capacitor. When the shield is grounded at the device end, this is used. The Installation section includes a diagram of the jumper positions. The VSCA board and toolbox are used for every other configuration.
