FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:

IS200TVBAH2AAA is a Vibration Input Terminal Board manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the Mark VIe Series used in GE Distributed Turbine Control Systems. The Vibration Input terminal board serves as a signal interface for the PVIB/YVIB I/O pack, directly connecting to various probes such as seismic (velocity), Proximitors, Velomitors, and accelerometers. It offers signal suppression and protection against electromagnetic interference (EMI) for each input signal. The board features a pull-up bias to facilitate open circuit detection, and signals are transmitted to the I/O packs via a 37-pin connector. The TVBA is suitable for both simplex and TMR applications.

In TMR setups, the TVBA distributes the signal to three I/O packs and includes buffered outputs to additional connectors beyond the standard 37-pin connection. This capability allows for special 9 and 25-pin connectors to interface with the Bently Nevada* 3500 monitoring system, as well as BNC connections for third-party monitoring equipment. It's important to note that Mark VIe/VIeS control systems do not utilize RKPS power supplies; instead, they obtain power from +28 V sources, with no external supply for -28 V. Consequently, the TVBA includes three removable daughterboards, known as WNPS (negative power supply), to convert +28 V to -28 V, providing all the negative power required for its operation.

INSTALLATION:

The TVBA accommodates 14 sensor inputs, which are directly connected to two I/O terminal blocks. Each block is secured with two screws and features 24 terminals that can accept wires up to #12 AWG. Additionally, there is a shield termination attachment point next to each terminal block.

  • Support Proximitors, Seismics, Accelerometers (channels 1,2, 3 only), and Velomitors
  • Current-limited -24V power supply per channel
  • JPxA jumper for configuring the open circuit check support and 3mA constant current feed for Velomitors
  • JPxB configures the JA1 and JB1 outputs for the Bently Nevada 3500 rack
  • JPxC configures PR0xL as Open for true differential input or connects PR0xL to PCOM for a -24 V return.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What kind of protection does the TVBA provide for the input signals?

The TVBA offers signal suppression and electromagnetic interference (EMI) protection for each input signal.

Can the TVBA be used in TMR applications?

Yes, the TVBA is compatible with both simplex and TMR (Triple Modular Redundancy) applications, distributing signals to three I/O packs in TMR setups.

What power supply is required for the TVBA?

The TVBA requires a +28 V power supply; it does not use RKPS power supplies, and there is no external source for -28 V power
