FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:

IS200TRLYH1BDC is a Contact Output Terminal Board manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the Mark VIe Series used in the GE Distributed Turbine Control Systems. The TRLYH1B module accommodates 12 plug-in magnetic relays. The first six relays can be jumper-configured either as dry Form-C contact outputs or to drive external solenoids. Field solenoid power can be supplied from a standard 125 V DC or 115/230 V AC source or an optional 24 V DC source, each with individual jumper-selectable fuses and onboard suppression. Relays 7 through 11 provide unpowered, isolated Form-C contact outputs. Relay 12 is also an isolated Form-C contact, typically reserved for special applications such as ignition transformers. In the Mark VIe system, TRLYH1B works with PDOA I/O packs, which connect via DC-37 pin connectors on the terminal board. The setup supports either a single PDOA on connector JA1 or three PDOAs on connectors JR1, JS1, and JT1.

INSTALLATION:

The 12 relay outputs connect directly to two I/O terminal blocks mounted on the terminal board, each secured with two screws and featuring 24 terminals that accept up to #12 AWG wires. On the left side of each terminal block is a shield terminal strip connected to the chassis ground. Solenoid power for outputs 1–6 is typically supplied through connector JF1. Connector JF2 can be used to daisy-chain power to additional TRLY boards. If JF1 or JF2 is not used, customer-supplied power may be wired directly to terminal block TB3. Power for the special solenoid connected to output 12 is provided via connector JG1. Jumpers JP1–JP6, which control power to field solenoids, are removed at the factory and shipped in a plastic bag. Reinstall the necessary jumpers if solenoid power is required. Perform individual loop energization checks following standard procedures and install jumpers accordingly. For isolated contact configurations, remove the fuses to eliminate suppression leakage from the power bus.

OPERATION:

Relay drivers, fuses, and jumpers are located on the relay terminal board. In simplex configurations, control signals and monitor feedback voltages are transmitted between the I/O processor and the TRLY board via the JA1 D-type connector. Each relay is rated for 3.0 A and operates at the system frame rate. The contact-to-contact insulation is rated at 500 V AC for one minute, while the coil-to-contact insulation withstands 1,500 V AC for one minute. Typical relay actuation time is approximately 10 milliseconds. Relays 1–6 include a 250 V MOV for transient suppression between the normally open and power return terminals. If the I/O processor loses communication or a cable is unplugged, the relay outputs default to a failsafe state by de-energizing the affected relays. In Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) applications, relay control signals are routed from the R, S, and T I/O processors to the TRLY board through connectors JR1, JS1, and JT1. These signals are voted on within the board, and the result determines the action of the relay drivers. Relay coil power is supplied from all three I/O processors and is diode-shared for redundancy.
