FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:
IS200SDIIH2A is a Simplex Contact Input with Point Isolation Terminal Board manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the Mark VIe Series used in GE Distributed Control Systems. A range of voltages can be sensed across relay contacts, fuses, switches, and other contacts using the 16-point isolated voltage detection circuits included on the Contact Input with Point Isolation (SDII) terminal board. The IS200SDIIH1 includes connectors that can accommodate various alternative boards and pluggable box terminals in the Euro style. There are three terminals available for every contact input channel. The following voltage levels can be applied to each channel: 24 V dc, 48 V dc, 125 V dc, 250 V dc, 115 V ac rms, and 230 V ac rms. All 16 channels are point-isolated channels if PDII is exclusively utilized with SDII.
The WDII option boards that link to SDIIH1A are divided into three classes. When the option board WDII is connected, the point-isolated channels are converted to group isolated channels where WDII is used to supply the system wetness voltage. To monitor the wetness voltage, WDII boards include an isolated voltage detector circuit similar to SDII.
INSTALLATION:
The SDII and plastic insulator are attached to a sheet metal carrier that mounts onto the cabinet using screws. An option board if used, plugs onto SDII and is held in place with the help of four stand-offs and the fastener hardware. The contact inputs are wired directly to the terminal block, typically using #18 AWG wires. Shields should be terminated on a separate bracket.
OPERATION:
A sensing circuit is provided by the SDII that transforms the voltage present at the TB input into an isolated digital signal. The firmware determines the voltage existing at the TB input using the isolated signal. It determines whether a contact is on or off based on the presence or absence of voltage at the TB input. Every input is kept separate from the others. All of the inputs are point and system isolated when using SDII without an extra board.
The channels can be system wetted with 24 V dc, 115 V 50/60 Hz, or 230 V 50/60 Hz rms depending on the TB points used for field wire terminations and the channel configuration settings made through the ToolboxST application if SDII is utilized with optional board WDIIH1. For AC 50 Hz and 60 Hz, the frequency range is 3 Hz. The relevant channel fuse must be present on WDII in order for the system to be wet. The input can be used as an isolated point signal line after the fuse has been removed.
