Functional Description
IS200JPDBG01 is a Power Distribution Board developed by GE. It is part of Mark VIe control system. The AC Power Distribution (JPDB) board is responsible for conditioning, monitoring, and distributing AC power within a system. The module comprises two line filters and the board. This board features two distinct AC distribution circuits, each rated for 20 A at 115 or 230 V AC. For optimal functionality, the input circuits must be wired in parallel to prevent triggering PPDA alarms when using a single AC power source.
Features
- Each AC distribution circuit includes one fused output and three fused and switched branch circuit outputs, providing flexible power distribution capabilities. Additionally, the module supports an optional connection to the JPDF 125 V DC distribution module, extending its utility to DC-powered components.
- The board incorporates passive monitoring circuits that track both AC voltage magnitudes and the status of all fused circuits. These monitoring circuits connect via P1, allowing compatibility with a cable that links to a board containing a PPDA I/O pack for power diagnostics. Furthermore, the board has a P2 connector for pass-through monitoring signals from other power distribution system cards, enhancing its scalability.
- When needed, two JPDB modules can be connected to a single PPDA I/O pack, streamlining system integration. The IS2020JPDBG2 variant provides an additional connector, enabling integration with an AC source selector for more complex systems. This selector intercepts two AC sources supplied to the JPDB and routes them to the JSS1 connector on the board's edge. The selector's output is then wired to JSS1 and conducted to the respective branch circuit outputs.
- It’s important to note that circuit breakers are not included with the basic module. However, optional mounting plates can be fastened to the JPDB’s metal support to accommodate circuit breakers, depending on system requirements. Users should refer to specific job documentation for detailed information on any circuit breakers attached to the JPDB.
Compatibility
- The module is designed to be compatible with the P1/P2 connectors found on other JP-series distribution modules, such as JPDE, JPDF, JPDS, and JPDM, which interface with the PPDA I/O pack.
- The JAF2 connector is compatible with the AC input of the JPDF module, facilitating seamless integration across various power distribution components.
Installation
- The module is base-mounted vertically on a metal backplate within a cabinet, as part of a PDM (Power Distribution Module) system. The module’s sheet metal must be properly connected to the system's Protective Earth to ensure safe operation. Input power is supplied through AC1H (line) and AC1N (neutral) for the first AC circuit, and AC2H (line) and AC2N (neutral) for the second AC circuit. Both AC inputs must feature grounded neutral connections. The output circuits are then connected according to the system’s documentation.
- If the power distribution system includes a power diagnostic I/O pack, a 50-pin ribbon cable is required to link the JPDB’s P1 connector to the P2 connector on the board hosting the PPDA. This connection may also pass through other PDM boards, utilizing their P2 connectors to enhance system communication.
Grounding Requirements
- The Mark VIe system separates grounding into two categories: Protective Earth (PE) and Functional Earth (FE).
- The PE ground must be connected to an appropriate earth connection, in compliance with local standards.
- The grounding system must be capable of carrying 60 A for 60 seconds with a maximum voltage drop of 10 volts. Additionally, the FE ground must be bonded to the PE ground at a single point to ensure system integrity.
