The HSLA board is a single or dual-port HSSL interface board. The UCSB controller interface is from an HSLA HSSL daughterboard. A key feature of the HSLA is its field programmable gate array (FPGA), which provides the digital logic functions for the HSSL. Configuration of the HSLA FPGA is automatically performed by the UCSB controller.
