Functional Description

DS200RTBAG2ABB is a Relay Terminal Board developed by General Electric. It is a part of Drive Control series. This optional board is designed for use in drive or exciter cabinets, providing advanced relay-driven functionalities for industrial systems. It enhances control by allowing both direct relay control and remote user operation, making it a versatile component for diverse applications.

Features

  • Relay Configuration: The board features ten relays designated as K20 through K29. Seven relays (K20K26) are DPDT relays with two Form C contacts. Three relays (K27K29) are 4PDT relays with four Form C contacts. Each relay includes an LED indicator to display its energized status.
  • Protection Mechanisms: The relays are safeguarded by 130 V AC metal oxide varistors (MOVs), protecting the I/O from voltage spikes and surges.
  • Replaceable Relays: All relays are individually replaceable. The replacement process is straightforward but requires the power to the drive to be turned off to prevent equipment damage.

Relay Replacement Procedure

  • Turn Off Power: Ensure the drives power is disconnected to avoid damage or injury.
  • Access the RTBA Board: Open the cabinet door and locate the RTBA board, usually positioned below the drives board rack.
  • Remove the Relay: Release the retaining clip by pressing the top and pulling it from the sides. Gently pull the relay straight out of its socket.
  • Install the New Relay: Align the new relay properly (it fits only in one orientation). Press it into the socket until securely seated. Replace the retaining clip by centering it and
  • pressing down until it locks into place.

Connections and Power Supply

  • Primary Connectors: 16-pin (RPL) and 2-pin (OPTPL) connectors facilitate communication between the RTBA and LTBA boards. The signals from the RPL connector are jumper-selectable, providing flexibility in signal configuration.
  • Stab Connectors: CPH (Control Power Hot) and CPN (Control Power Negative) supply control power to pluggable circuits. The use of these connectors is also jumper-selectable.
  • Relay Access Points: Relays K27K29 are accessible via connectors C1PLC5PL and Y9PLY37PL, with jumper-selectable control power sources.
  • External Signal Connections: The terminals 152 on the RTBA board allow external signals to connect with relays K20K26. Jumper settings determine the control power source for these relays, ensuring adaptability for specific setups.

Applications

  • Flexible relay-based control for drive systems.
  • Protection against voltage irregularities with built-in MOVs.
  • Simple relay replacement and configuration processes.
