DS3800XVIA is a Voltage indicator board under mark IV series. The DS3800XVIA and other circuit boards from General Electric's Speedtronic Mark IV range are used to regulate and operate gas and steam turbines. To create a controlled explosion, a gas or steam turbine uses a huge internal combustion engine to mix fuel and air. This explosion creates a sequence of high-pressure gases that force their way out of the engine, allowing the turbine to spin at a rapid rate and generate a lot of energy. The energy generated by the rotating turbine is then captured and put to use in a variety of ways.

• The DS3800XVIA has a two-port female connecting terminal that is tiny and red. Along the short side of the board, the DS3800XVIA contains three large metal pins and roughly fifty-five thinner metal pins separated into three different rows. Each pin has a number assigned to it. A large black terminal port and a shorter black terminal port run down the center of the circuit board.
• The main terminal port has seventeen silver tabs at the top, while the smaller terminal port has twelve. Each silver tab on the card corresponds to a letter and number on the black terminals. It has the part number and the General Electric insignia printed on it.
