Functional Description
DS3800HSDD is a Solenoid Driver Board developed by GE. It is a part of Mark IV turbine control system. The Mark IV control system was General Electric's first TMR (triple modular redundant) control system for gas and steam turbines in their popular Speedtronic series. While Mark IV components are no longer available from the OEM, many of these boards are still available from WOC, where we stock a large number of Speedtronic components.
Product Attributes
- The Operator Interface module in the Mark IV Speedtronic system is used to communicate with the turbine system. This module interface features input membrane switches as well as an emergency stop pushbutton. The Speedtronic system includes a panel-mounted printer for automatic logging and printing of specific parameters.
- Alarm Lockout, Alarm Logging, and various diagnostics are all available on the Mark IV. Administrative lists that allow for time/date data, scale sets, security codes, control identity selection, and PROM IDs are also displayed as options.
System Features
- HMI (Human-Machine Interface): The system includes a user-friendly interface that allows operators to monitor and control the turbine. The HMI provides real-time data, alarms, and status information clearly and intuitively.
- Fault Diagnosis and Protection: The Control System incorporates advanced fault diagnosis capabilities. It can detect abnormal operating conditions and take appropriate measures to protect the turbine from potential damage or operational issues.
- Sequencing and Start-Up: The control system manages the turbine start-up sequence, ensuring a smooth and controlled process. It provides automated procedures for starting, stopping, and transitioning between different operating modes.
- Communication and Connectivity: Supports various communication protocols to enable seamless integration with other systems and devices, such as data acquisition systems, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and plant control networks.
- Data Logging and Analysis: It includes data logging capabilities to record important operational parameters and events. This data can be used for analysis, performance evaluation, and troubleshooting.
- Redundancy and High Reliability: The System is designed with redundant components and fault-tolerant features to ensure high system availability and reliability. Redundancy helps prevent system failures and allows for continuous operation even in the event of component failures.
- Diagnostic Tools and Maintenance Support: The system provides diagnostic tools and features to aid in troubleshooting and maintenance activities. These tools help identify and resolve issues efficiently, minimizing downtime and optimizing turbine performance.
- Remote Monitoring and Control: Some versions of the System support remote monitoring and control capabilities. This enables operators to monitor and control the turbine from a remote location, enhancing operational flexibility and accessibility.
