Functional Description

DS3820DMVB1A1A is a circuit board with a case developed by GE. It is part of the Mark IV control system. The module is a rack designed by General Electric to hold circuit boards used in the GE Mark IV series, a turbine control system.

Features

  • The rack is designed to house a maximum of three circuit boards from the Mark IV series. These circuit boards are used to control the operations of both gas and steam turbines, making the rack a versatile component in turbine control systems.
  • The rack provides adequate protection for the circuit boards, ensuring their safety when not in use.
  • Use appropriate cleaning methods to avoid introducing harmful substances to the rack and its components.

Control Command Procedure

  • The operator initiates a control command to the gas turbine equipment by pressing the appropriate Operation/Control switch. The system responds with an audible beep to acknowledge receipt of the input, and the light above the switch starts flashing. The system then waits for the operator to confirm the command. To confirm, the operator must press the yellow Execute switch within 3 seconds of pressing the control switch.
  • This procedure for confirming a command input is designed to prevent false commands from being executed. Only switches in the Operation/Control group require the operator to also press the Execute switch. All switches in other functional groups, including the Emergency Stop pushbutton, do not require this protective feature.
  • When the Execute command is received, the light above the control switch changes from flashing to continuously on if the gas turbine can accept the control input. For example, the gas turbine cannot accept a Crank command if it has detected a fire. Similarly, if the Normal Display shows the message NOT READY TO START, a Start command input is accepted but cannot be acted upon. In such cases, the system displays an alarm message specifying the reason the start permissions are not satisfied.
