8445-1026 is a Direct Configuration Cable manufactured and designed by Woodward. A Woodward control or protection device that supports DPC communication that has to be connected to a PC or laptop for configuration and monitoring uses the Direct Configuration Cable (DPC). To maintain the Woodward unit's proper operation, the connecting cable that came with the DPC must be utilized between the DPC and the unit. A Woodward unit problem could be caused by an extension or by using several cable types to connect the unit to the DPC. Damage to system components could come from this. Only the serial cable (RS-232) between the DPC and PC or laptop may be extended if an extension of the data connection line is necessary. It is advised to use a cable that is industry standard for this.
